A graduate of Çukurova University with a degree in Business Administration, Güney has professional experience in logistics, procurement, and operations management within the FMCG and chemical industries. His passion for the sea grew steadily after discovering sailing, eventually inspiring him to blend his business expertise with sailing pursuits. With his interdisciplinary background, Güney makes a valuable contribution to the vision and direction of Blackwater Sailing.
Atakan Akyüz
Co-Founder
Training Coordinator
Born on September 20, 2001, Atakan has been drawn to the sea since childhood. His interest led him to study Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering at Piri Reis University. Throughout his academic years, he gained valuable experience through internships at prestigious maritime companies both in Turkey and abroad. Serving as President of the Piri Reis University Sailing Club, he deepened his involvement in the sport. Atakan has worked as a racer, instructor, and training coordinator in leading sailing schools, specializing in cruising yacht training and sailing racing. With notable successes in both national and international competitions, he brings strong expertise in professional yachting and sailing training to BW Sailing.
Başak Karasu
Director of Operations
Başak holds a degree in Psychology from Middle East Technical University. She has served as an HR executive in Anadolu Group and Sabancı Holding. Leveraging her corporate and talent development experience, Başak helps position Blackwater Sailing not just as a sailing school, but also as a center for leadership and personal growth through experimental learning.
Kuzey Karasu

A graduate of Istanbul Technical University in Chemical Engineering, Kuzey brings extensive experience in entrepreneurship, strategy, business development, and international sales within the chemical industry.
